We are being inundated with the usual political rhetoric and mud slinging. Both major party candidates are running on the context of change; yet, both seem unable to break free of the "bullshit" mode. Why is it that the thronging masses at the conventions were unable to see this very obvious point? Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck. Perhaps the convention attendees did see this. Maybe they were so absorbed by the whole event that they were unable to think for themselves - you know - the herd mentality.
Take for instance, when Gov. Palin enters onto the stage and the crowd goes wild. After 20 thank yous and the "raising of the hands to part the waters" bit, the morons - I mean - the attendees finally shut up and let her speak. Now it is purely conjecture (but, I'll bet pretty accurate) to say that less than 1% of that raucous crowd had clue one as to who Gov. Palin was. I mean really knew who she was, what she stands for or where she is coming from. I have, with my own ears, heard people respond to this that they had heard from the campaign as to what she stood for and so on. Bullshit! Of course they heard all the good stuff and the fluff. Why after all these years would anyone believe a damn thing that any campaign said about itself.
Oh - wait - I remember now! These are the campaigns of change!!! That is why they have begun in exactly the same fashion as every other campaign that has come to pass.
If the path that is being followed is predictable and the speed and fashion that one follows the path is also predictable, it is therefore reasonable to assume that the ending will also be predictable. At the current rate of both major party campaigns I predict - drum roll please - more bullshit with some blah, blah, blah heaped on top and some "John cut in line!" and "Obama stole part of my lemon poppy seed muffin!" and at the end of the day one of these pundits for change will sink into the big chair at the desk of the free world and say ---- let them eat cake!
Now, I have been called cynical and been told it is people like me who stand in the way of real change. Call me what you will, but I call myself a realist and when I see or feel "real" change I will let you know. At the current rate I see nothing nothING Nothing different or changed about either of these tickets. Remember, all they espouse or utter is purely lip service. The proof is in the action. When one of the camps stands up and stops responding to attack adds and the crap put out by their opponent and begins running a campaign based on their platform and what they intend to accomplish (and a little reality would be appreciated) then I will start looking at the possibility of change. Tell us what you as a campaign intend to do and not what your opponent can not do. But, I suppose that would take a little honesty and a real desire to change the status quo.
So, the sale continues and so many Americans are buying. Buying the Bullshit. Buying the big bag of tater chips or the newest trendy fashion being pushed by huge PR and advertising firms. And at the end of the day they get us to buy a load of crap that serves no purpose, performs no function and takes up space to the point that it piles up around us.
Wake up America and think for yourselves. Buy because it is needed. Buy because it serves a purpose. Buy because it makes sense!
Another sheep in the herd that caught a glimpse of open range!
